On Thursday, September 19th there were seven NHL preseason
games: there was Detroit at Boston, 7 p.m., Carolina at Buffalo, 7 p.m., NY
Islanders at New Jersey, 7 p.m., Toronto at Ottawa, 7:30 p.m., Nashville at
Tampa Bay, 7:30 p.m., Pittsburgh at Chicago, 8 p.m., and Minnesota at Winnipeg,
8 p.m. The first game was the Detroit at Boston game this was a pretty good
game for the Red Wings. The final score was 8-2 Detroit. Detroit scored 2
points the first period than 2 points the second period and 4 points the third
period. Detroit played every shift with a lot of energy. The next game was the
Carolina at Buffalo game. The game was a good game for Buffalo. Buffalo won
with a 5-2 win. Ryan Miller was in net and made some really good saves as well
as let a couple past him. Both teams played a pretty good game, but Buffalo had
the upper hand. The next game was the New York Islanders against the New Jersey
Devils. The New York Islanders beat the New Jersey Devils 5-3. The Toronto
Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2. The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the
Nashville Predators 5-1. The next game that night was the Pittsburgh at Chicago
game. This game was a disappointment because Chicago lost in a shootout. I
really was hoping that Chicago would pick up a win, but that didn't happen due
to the fact that Pittsburgh won 4-3 in a shootout. The final game on the 19th
was the Minnesota at Winnipeg game. Minnesota beat Winnipeg 4-1 in a blowout of
a game. Then on the 20th of September Chicago had another game and
they set out to win it. They won this game 5-4 in a shootout against the
Washington Capitals. There were a few more games on the 20th but I’ll
get into that in the next blog!
